Sounds similar to cartiledge trouble (I've just have mine done) It's worth getting a scan. Good luck.
It could be similar to what they call "runners knee" it is not necessarily just a running injury but just collectively a working out injury. I would consult a sports dr about it because depending on where on earth the pain is, they hold exercises that target that area and build it up to prevent this from chronic.
I had this resting on worse injuries and seeing the dr. made a world of a difference. It brought me nearly pain free fund onto the track again.
Take 1500mg of glucosamine daily and see if that doesn't relieve with the torment it helped my bro within law who also be experiencing pain contained by his knees.
Wrap it in an ace lint. Apply ice every 45 minutes to an hour. Take tylenol, advil or motrin. All three of these are NSAIDS or non-steroidal anti inflammatories, they'll preserve down the swelling. If the pain doesn't subside within 24 to 48 hours it's best to see a doctor. You might have a form of arthritus or even a torn miniscus. Your doctor can donate the right course of action. Good Luck, Hope this help.
